Water rates could climb -- By Sandy Stokes

What goes up and never comes down? You guessed it -- utility bills.
The La Conner Town Council will start talking about new water and sewer rates for 2011, but this time it looks like the rate increase will be smaller than the ones in January 2010 and April 2009.
A typical bill for an average single family La Conner home would be around $2 higher next year under a rate formula the town is working on now.
