Town presents investment opportunity
This doesn't happen every day -- investors can put money into a town project, help the environment and make a profit! 
In today's paper, Town Administrator John Doyle explains the town's photovoltaic energy project and how an investor could turn a very nice profit while helping the town save money on its electricity bills.

Holiday events this weekend
Saturday Dec 4
8:30 to 11 a.m. – Santa Breakfast: The Rotary Club of La Conner’s annual Pancake Breakfast with Santa is at Maple Hall in La Conner. Every child receives a free photo with Santa. Breakfast with pancakes, eggs, sausage, juice and coffee is $6 for adults, $3 for kids or $12 for a family.

10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Holiday Bazaar: Find unique gifts at the La Conner Kiwanis annual craft sale at the La Conner Middle School gym.

5 p.m. – Tree Lighting: Enjoy music and refreshments when the guy in a red suit shows up to light up the Christmas tree in Gilkey Square in La Conner. Many of the local merchants will stay open late.
Sunday Dec 5
6 p.m. – Christmas Concert: The 15th annual Skagit Habitat for Humanity benefit concert, “The Sound of Christmas,” will be held at Maple Hall in La Conner. Admission is free, and donations are appreciated.
