Boys win state quarter finals

The La Conner Braves Boys Soccer team won 2-0 against two-time defending champion Tacoma Baptist in the quarter finals of the State Championship Tournament in Mount Vernon Friday night.
Kyle McKnight carried the ball through midfield and passed the ball straight up the field to DJ Carr, who broke past two Tacoma Baptist defenders late in second half (70th minute) and blasted the ball by the goalie. With less than two minutes left in the game, Todd Hoagland added a second goal, bringing the game to 2-0.
The team now travels to Sumner Friday Nov. 19 for the semi-finals.
